In today’s fast-paced, high-pressure world, it’s easy to lose touch with who we really are. Many people find themselves constantly giving to others, battling anxiety or burnout, or feeling like they’re just “getting through the day” without ever really feeling present or grounded.

Counselling can help you reconnect with yourself, especially when life has left you feeling emotionally disconnected, exhausted, or lost. If you’ve been feeling this way, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.

Are You Feeling Disconnected From Yourself?

Here are some common signs that you may be feeling disconnected from your true self:

  • You feel emotionally flat, numb, or “not quite here”

  • You struggle to relax or feel safe in your body

  • You second-guess your decisions or question your worth

  • You put others’ needs ahead of your own—constantly

  • You’re overwhelmed, burnt out, or feel like you're on autopilot

  • You long for peace, clarity, and a deeper sense of self

These are not character flaws. They are signs of a nervous system under stress—often responses to past trauma, chronic stress, or the emotional demands of everyday life. Therapy can support you in gently exploring and shifting these patterns.

Counselling as a Journey of Reconnection

Therapy isn’t just about fixing problems. It can be a powerful journey of remembering who you are, beneath the stress, the roles, and the survival strategies. It’s about coming home to yourself—your needs, your emotions, your body, and your truth.

How I Work: Trauma-Informed, Somatic, and Compassionate

I offer trauma-informed counselling for adults who are seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their lives. My approach is:

Relational and Human

I believe healing happens in a safe, trusting relationship. I work gently and respectfully, always at your pace, offering warmth, curiosity, and genuine care.

Somatic and Body-Aware

Sometimes words aren’t enough. I help you gently explore how experiences live in your body—through tension, numbness, energy, or sensation. Somatic therapy helps you reconnect with your body’s wisdom, supporting nervous system regulation and emotional resilience.

Neurodiversity-Affirming

I work with neurodivergent clients and those exploring whether they may be autistic or ADHD. My counselling is affirming, inclusive, and adaptive to different ways of thinking and feeling—not about fixing or changing you, but understanding and honouring your unique needs.

Therapy for Burnout, Anxiety and Emotional Overwhelm

Whether you're experiencing burnout, long-term anxiety, or feeling emotionally shut down, therapy can support you in:

  • Learning to recognise and meet your own needs

  • Reclaiming your voice and boundaries

  • Gently reconnecting with your emotions and body

  • Exploring the impact of past trauma or stress

  • Building capacity to rest, reflect and respond—not just survive

You Don’t Have to Find Your Way Back Alone

The journey back to yourself may be quiet, slow, and deeply personal—but it’s not one you have to walk alone. Therapy can offer a safe, grounded space to explore who you are, how you feel, and what you truly need.

If you’re ready to begin, or even just curious about what this kind of support could offer you, I invite you to get in touch.
